Programme Overview
The Precision Agriculture & Innovation Programme (PAIP) is PFA's flagship talent-development initiative designed to equip young people, graduates, and professionals with practical capabilities for Africa's emerging agricultural technology ecosystem. Participants master drone systems, remote sensing, GIS, digital agriculture workflows, and entrepreneurial venture building to become leaders in modern food systems.

Module 1: Foundations of AgriTech & Digital Agriculture
- Evolution of African food systems and the modern technology imperative
- Digital agriculture toolchains, IoT, sensors, and telemetry
- Understanding agricultural data architecture and farm management software
Module 2: Agricultural Drone Operations & Flight Safety
- Aviation safety regulations, flight planning, and airspace management
- Multi-rotor and VTOL aerodynamics and emergency procedures
- Manual and automated autonomous flight missions for farm assessment
Module 3: Geospatial Intelligence, GIS & Remote Sensing
- Coordinate reference systems (CRS) and spatial data layers
- Satellite imagery acquisition (Sentinel, Landsat) and drone photogrammetry
- Processing multispectral bands and calculating vegetation indices (NDVI, NDRE)
Module 4: Applied Precision Agriculture & Variable-Rate Operations
- Crop health diagnostics, weed pressure mapping, and stress identification
- Prescription map generation for variable-rate spraying and fertilization
- Heavy-payload agricultural drone calibration and spot spraying operations
Module 5: AgriTech Entrepreneurship, Consulting & Leadership
- Commercial service design: drone-as-a-service (DaaS) business models
- Client farm assessment, proposal writing, and economic ROI calculations
- Capstone project presentation to industry leaders and ecosystem investors
